Located in the World Heritage Site, right up against some of South Africa’s most beautiful mountains, at the top of the Champagne Valley, Champagne Castle Hotel offers our guests a wide range of activities on our property:

Restaurant

Our restaurant is beautifully appointed and faces the mountain and the hotel verandah. It can seat 140 people. All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are served buffet style offering an extensive menu. In consideration of our other guests, we regret no children under 8 years after 8pm.

Bar

Our bar is a wonderful combination of comfort, ambience (open fireplace), mountain outlook and patio access, and is open till late.

Patio

We have a large patio overlooking the pool area with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. It is an extension of our restaurant, lounge and bar areas.  A patio menu is available from 10am to 5pm daily except Sundays between 12pm & 2.30pm, while we serve an extensive Sunday lunch in our restaurant).

Lounges

We have two lounges:

CASUAL LOUNGE – Large screen TV, open fire-place and large comfortable couches and armchairs

FORMAL LOUNGE – Intimate and elegant. An adult ‘get-away’ for over 18-year olds. Couches, armchairs, open fireplace. No TV.

Picnics

There’s a particular kind of quiet you only get out on the grass, mountains on every side, nothing between you and the peaks.

Champagne Castle Hotel has been quietly perfecting a way to bring that stillness to a table. Literal picnics laid out on the lawn, champagne on ice, a spread worth lingering over.

It started as something for engagements. Two people, a blanket, the Berg as the only witness. If you’d like one arranged for you, for a proposal, an anniversary, or just because, let us know and we’ll set it up, at an additional cost.

Children

Champagne Castle Hotel has long been considered a Premier Drakensberg Resort for the entire family due to the diversity of activities available to both adults and children alike. During school holidays, a kiddies entertainer arranges an extensive programme of activities to keep the children entertained and busy.

In the evening children under the ages of  8 years are welcome in the hotel restaurant between 6.30pm and 8pm and thereafter they have the choice of either partaking in board games or watching DVD’s in our casual lounge adjacent to the restaurant or going to our games room.

Alternatively, children may enjoy an early dinner in the restaurant between 5pm and 6pm. Prior booking is essential.
