DINING AT CHAMPAGNE CASTLE

Our breakfasts help to recharge after a good rest and energise for the day ahead. From freshly baked pastries, continental and full English options, a live egg and omelette station. Think infused honey, fresh cut fruit and smoothies, seeds and berries. Eggs Benedict and specialty coffees are just some of the highlights to get your day started on the right foot.

Between our morning and afternoon tea and scones, we serve a lighter fare for lunch. Ploughman’s platter, a Harvest table, fish and chips, a classic casserole or curry, and a soup with salads. Cheeses and desserts with ice-cream or sorbet finish off the meal.

The majesty of the mountains forms the backdrop to the patio, where cocktails, wine and other drinks can be enjoyed. Our extensive wine by the glass menu caters for a variety of palettes and a few interesting stalwarts on the list shouldn’t be missed.

We have an extensive range of Whisk(e)y and Gin, as well as draught and bottled beers.

Our dinner consists of a soup and starters, canapes, two roasts daily, as well as various hot dishes such as casseroles, curry, pasta, and traditional vegetable accompaniments. Our extensive dessert buffet includes a live pancake or waffles station, as well as ice cream cones and a variety of toppings.

A local cheeseboard and speciality coffees can be enjoyed after your meal, or retire to the fireplace in “Abels” bar for an aperitif or nightcap.

Self-Catering

For self-catering, an a La Carte patio menu is available from 10h00 till 17h00 daily, serving light meals, teas, coffees and scones.

Non-Residents

Non-resident guests are welcome to visit Champagne Castle Hotel to enjoy a meal in our restaurant, or to relax on the patio while taking in the beauty of the Central Drakensberg mountains. An à la carte patio menu is available daily from 10h00 to 17h00.

At certain times, particularly during school holidays, Champagne Castle Hotel may be closed to non-resident visitors due to high occupancy. This allows us to ensure the best possible experience for our in-house guests. We therefore recommend enquiring in advance to confirm availability (tap/ click here to call).
